川口アパートメントの一室の改修工事。川口アパートメントは、1964年竣工のRC造80戸の集合住宅である。

ガーデニングをする施主のために、玄関から庭までをを土足のまま行き来できるように土間でつなぎ、土間に沿って、ベンチ、キッチン、ワークスペースを配置した。

土間は庭と部屋での活動のの距離感を近づける役割を果たしている。

室内には極力建具を設けず、夫婦二人の活動がお互いに程よい距離感で意識できるような空間になるよう試みた。

This is the refurbishment of the unit for my parents. Kawaguchi Apartment has built in 1964. There are 80 unit. The owner, Matsutaro Kawaguchi was the author in Japan, and His son, Hiroshi Kawaguchi built this apartment for the actor and artist so that they would have wealth lifestyle here. I have refurbished a unit of this apartment. The garden and the entrance has connected Doma area made by mortal so that the parents can walk through without taking off their shoes as they will work gardening. External existing tiles has repeated in to the kitchen in order to have continuity. Taking off the doors between Living space and Bed room, the parents can be aware each other.
